Jordi Ribera, the coach of the Spanish national handball team, has unveiled the list of 20 players who will commence preparations for the 2024 Men's European Handball Championship hosted by Germany from January 10 to 28. The Spanish squad, known as the Hispanos, will gather on December 26 in Málaga before heading to Ceuta to kickstart their training at the Polideportivo Guillermo Molina. This training camp will also include the filming of the annual promotional spot produced by the Royal Spanish Handball Federation.

After concluding the initial preparatory stage on December 30, Jordi Ribera's plan involves making the first player selection before reassembling the group on January 2 in Granollers, a town near Barcelona. There, the Hispanos will face Poland, Slovakia, and Serbia in the Palau d'Esports de Granollers in a tournament broadcasted live on Teledeporte and RTVE Play.

The roster assembled by Jordi Ribera showcases a mix of experienced players and emerging talents representing some of the top handball clubs across Europe. The squad includes:

Jordi Ribera expressed his anticipation for the upcoming tournament in Granollers, emphasizing the significance of playing on home soil. The Palau d'Esports de Granollers will host the Hispanos for the first time since January 15, 2022, and the coach hopes for a full arena to create a festive atmosphere.

One player with a particularly special connection to Granollers is Ian Tarrafeta, who aims to use this tournament as an opportunity to overcome the disappointment of the previous World Championship, where he sustained an injury in the first match. Tarrafeta, currently playing for Pays D'aix Université Club in the French league, is thrilled to return to the national team and contribute to achieving their goals.

As the countdown to the European Handball Championship begins, the inclusion of both seasoned players and emerging talents in Jordi Ribera's squad reflects the strategic approach aimed at securing success in the highly anticipated tournament hosted by Germany.
