Set to take place on September 6th in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the game will mark the opening week of the 2024 NFL season against an opponent yet to be disclosed.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed enthusiasm for this groundbreaking event, highlighting the league's expanding global presence. Goodell stated, "This landmark first international game in South America demonstrates the ongoing expansion of our global footprint." Designating the game to be played on a Friday night during the first week provides a unique opportunity to showcase the NFL's international growth and ambitions.

Notably, this game represents the first time the NFL will play a Friday night game during the opening week of a season since 1970. The league had previously announced plans in December to hold a regular-season game in Brazil in 2024. Corinthians Arena, which hosted six matches during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, will serve as the venue for this historic occasion.

In the 2024 season, the Philadelphia Eagles will join the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Carolina Panthers in participating in overseas games. While the Bears, Vikings, and Jaguars have games scheduled in London, the Panthers will play in Munich.
