NBA Lifts Draymond Green's Suspension after 12 Games

The NBA has announced the end of Draymond Green's indefinite suspension, allowing the Golden State Warriors player to rejoin his team after missing 12 games. Green faced disciplinary action for his attack on Jusuf Nurkic of the Phoenix Suns, but has since demonstrated his commitment to aligning his conduct with NBA standards.

During his suspension, which began on December 14th, Green diligently attended regular meetings with a therapist, as well as representatives from the NBA, Warriors, and the players' union (NBPA). The league commended his efforts and stated that these meetings will continue throughout the season.

While Green was absent, the Warriors managed to secure seven victories and endured five defeats. Currently ranked tenth in the Western Conference with a record of 18-17, the team has felt the impact of their key player being sidelined.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr acknowledged the gravity of the situation, emphasizing that Green's absence was an opportunity for him to seek help and regain focus. Although Green will be back with the team for their upcoming game against the Toronto Raptors, it is anticipated that he will require another week before being fully prepared to play.

The suspension stemmed from an incident on December 12th when Green was ejected for slapping Jusuf Nurkic in the face during a game against the Phoenix Suns. While fighting for position, Green struck Nurkic, resulting in his early dismissal from the game. This was not Green's first ejection this season, as he had previously been expelled for grabbing Rudy Gobert's neck during a match against the Minnesota Timberwolves in mid-November, resulting in a five-game ban.

Green's return to the court brings a mix of anticipation and hope for the Warriors, as they aim to improve their standing in the fiercely competitive NBA.
