Wild Card Recipients for Monte-Carlo Masters Revealed

The organizers of the clay court Masters tournament in Monte-Carlo (Monaco) have announced the tennis players who will receive wild cards into the main draw of the upcoming competition. They are:

  • Matteo Berrettini (Italy)
  • Stan Wawrinka (Switzerland)
  • Gael Monfils (France)
  • Valentin Vashero (Monaco)

The Monte-Carlo Masters will take place from April 7 to 14. The current champion is the sixth-ranked player in the world, Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev. Rublev plans to defend his title (his debut victory at this level).

It was previously announced that the 22-time Grand Slam champion and former world number one, Spanish player Rafael Nadal, will not be competing in Monte-Carlo. He stated that he is not yet physically prepared for such challenges.
